Buyers: It's an interesting and exciting time to be looking for a home. This market is unique and more challenging to real estate agents than any seen in recent years. New buyers more than ever need to have help when searching for a home in this market. There are Short Sales, REO properties, regular sales, and FSBO homes on the market making it more and more difficult to know what to do. Call me anytime to learn more about how to navigate this market. Take a moment to read my blog post on Short Sales. Sellers: This can be a difficult time to sell your home. Anyone that has watched Designed to Sell on HGTV knows that in order to get buyers excited about a home and ready to write an offer, they need to have an attractive and stylish house free of blemishes inside and out. I am a big fan of staging. Stagers have the ability to turn a home into a desirable attractive place that buyers can see themselves in. Most staging is inexpensive and can be done with very little renovation. most really good stagers don't need to use rented furniture. I would be happy to recommend several home stagers for you to interview. I like the location and the land that the house sits on, but it is old. The second answer is a little longer so grab a cup of coffee. I firmly believe that houses are like human beings. They have a life cycle. Some are short, some are long, and the rest fall somewhere in the middle. Some homes were made to live a long, long time, case in point, the castles in Ireland, Bunratty castle comes to mind. It's hundreds of years old. A little less impressive is the White House, a couple of hundred years of age. Some houses were not built to live quite as long, case in point, my house. My house is a typical brick cape cod. It was built in 1940. It is nearing the end of it's lifecycle, ...read more at MatthewRyanRE.blogspot.com Posted on March 18th, 2010 Why use just one Realtor? Some of my clients are perplexed by the notion that I will only work with them if they work with me exclusively. The idea of a buyer’s agent can be a difficult concept to grasp. I like to use a term that Larry Anderson, a teacher with NVAR(Northern Virginia Association of Realtors), uses a lot in his classes, “Buyer’s Advocate.” A buyer’s advocate can look out for the best interest of their client, the buyer. Doesn’t sound very unique, does it? Well, let be backtrack a bit. Way back in the earlier years of real estate in Virginia, about twenty or so years ago. There was no such thing as a buyer’s agent... read more at MatthewRyanRE.blogspot.com Posted on March 15th, 2010 Winner of the $500 cash drawing!
